Hanif Hassan Reviews Princess Haya Award for Special Education

Jun 05th, 2010 -- Minister of Health Dr. Hanif Hassan emphasized that the Ministry gives great attention to the special needs people and stressed the need for the cooperation of all entities to give them the helping hand and facilitate their integration into the community.


The minister made this remarks at the meeting with Mohamed Al Imaadi, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Princess Haya Award for Special Education. Dr. Hanif Hassan was briefed about the program of the award and the mechanisms that coincide with international standards as well as ways of creating a competitive environment which guarantees the opportunities for special needs employees and raising their future services and sustainability.

The Minister assured the role of Princess Haya Award for Special Education that encourages institutional work in the special needs centers pointing out the necessity of providing these centers with the specialized references related to the rehabilitation of the special needs categories.

He said: "The Ministry of Health gives great concern to the special needs categories through the provision of medical services and healthy environment according to international standards and the global development of the special needs field. The hospitals and centers of the ministry of health gives great care to these categories and provides them with designated places to maintain their comfort".

Mohamed Al Imadi indicated that the award aims for raising the special needs services and honoring its employees, highlighting their efforts and providing training and rehabilitation for special needs children.

"The cooperation with various sectors in the UAE motivates educators for more efforts towards improving the services provided to people with special needs, encouraging administrative and technical human resources to work with them and improve their services", he elaborated.
