The awards in this year will include the category of Corporate Social Responsibility

Dubai, 3 Oct 2009: Princess Haya Award for Special Education has commenced its second year as announced by the Executive Committee of the Award to receive nominees' applications from the various categories of special education sector. In addition to the last year categories, this year the category of Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility will be included in recognition of excellence demonstrated by board members of special needs centers, organizations, and special education supporters.

Mr. Mohammed Al Emadi, Head of Executive Committee, declared that the 'Outstanding CSR' is a new category aims at honoring people or organizations in UAE community whom pledged their power to support social issues in the special education sector.

The new category of CSR has different dimensions in its criteria. It stipulates the commitment of consistent support, the efficient participation, the sponsorship for the causes of special needs centers.

"The introduction of the new category is aimed at encouraging the efforts of nominees, which may include individuals, organizations or companies toward strengthening the community," Al Emadi said.

The Princess Haya Award for Special Education was launched on November 23rd 2008 to target best practice in the Special Needs sector according to the highest international standards. The Award is set to encourage people working in Special Needs to excel and set higher service standards in all fields of special education.

Dubai, 04 Nov 2009: The Executive Committee of the Princess Haya Award for Special Education conducted the periodic meeting to discuss the procedures of the Jury Committee and the new two categories: the Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility and the Outstanding Vocational Therapist. The Committee also discussed the Award media plan for this year and framed the timetable of the event.

The category of Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility includes the outstanding board member, the outstanding supporter and the outstanding volunteer In recognition of the demonstrated excellence.

In the meeting, the committee discussed the Award progress-line arriving at the current phase, which focuses on involving special needs centers in the region. The nomination criteria of the new categories and the jury procedures were the main topics in the discussion.

Mr. Mohammed Al Emadi, Head of Executive Committee, highlighted the importance of the Award in motivating people and organizations in UAE community who pledged their power to support social issues in the special education sector.

“The Princess Haya Award for Special Education is a turning point for the special education sector that aims to excel and set higher service standards in all special education fields,” Al Emadi added.
