109 nominations received for the awards of Special Education

Dubai – UAE: Executive Committee of Princess Haya Award for Special Education announced that a total of 109 nominations has been received by the panel for 3 main award categories.

The awards are given in various categories of special education sector in recognition of excellence demonstrated by therapists, educators, administrative people, and parents of special needs individuals.

Mr. Mohammed Al Emadi, the award executive committee head, declared that the ‘Outstanding Special Educator’ category received 10 nominees while the ‘Outstanding Therapists’ category received 35 and the ‘Management Initiative’ category received 10.

The Outstanding Special Needs Project category received five nominees whereas the Management Campaign category received 10 and the Outstanding Management Category received five. Other categories which received nominations are: Outstanding Website – six; Family of Special Needs Child – nine; Special Needs Center – seven; Special Needs Supervisor – seven; Special Needs Research – five. At this time, a team of experts in special education and business management has started the process of evaluation and arbitration to announce the names of the winners in April 2009.

The Award program aims to promote workplace excellence and customer-focused performance among Special Education employees. Higher efficiency and productivity, quality service and lower operational costs are some of the positive outcomes the program will result on the special education future.
 
Princess Haya Award for Special Education:

Dubai – UAE: A public information meeting was held at the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) before starting individual visits to all evolved Special Needs centers in Dubai in order to present the initiative of the Princess Haya Award for Special Education.

During the meeting, Mr. Mohammed Al Emadi, chairman of the Award executive committee, presented the initiative progress-line arriving at the current phase which introduced the initiative to the public. He also explained the categories, awards values, nomination standards for the Award and highlighted the importance of the Award in motivating people working with special needs individuals.

“The Princess Haya Award for Special Education is a turning point for the special education sector that aims to excel and set higher service standards in all special education fields,”
Al Emadi added.

Princess Haya Award for Special Education was launched on November to be the first initiative of its kind in the region.
It targets the best models of the special needs sector in various categories according to high international standards. The initiative also aims to encourage people working in the special needs to excel and set higher service standards in all fields of special education.
