HRH Princess Haya Award for Special Needs Education

Dubai – UAE: In pursuit of her desire to contribute to community well-being, HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE, Ruler of Dubai, has launched the Award of Special Needs Education for the first time in the region. The Award aims to give outstanding people and institutions who work with individuals with Special Needs the recognition they deserve.

The award aims also to motivate therapists, educators, administrative staff, and caregivers in the field of Special Needs. The honor roll includes the best models from the Special Needs sector in Dubai, which are special educators, therapists, clinical psychologists, educational psychologists, speech & language therapists, occupational therapists, movement therapists, computer therapists, music therapists, art therapists.

It will include also the best model of head teachers, academic research on Special Needs., S.N. projects, S.N. centers, administration crews, awareness & fundraising campaigns, websites of S.N. organizations, S.N. families.
The award based on high international standards that contain performance & achievements, professional contribution, professional development, initiative and innovation, ethical commitment & collaboration, and participation & responsibility.

Dubai – UAE: After launching the Princess Haya Special Educators Award, and following the counsel of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE, Ruler of Dubai, an executive committee has been formed to be chaired by Mohammed Al Emadi, Board Member of Dubai Care, Director General of the Dubai Autism Center.

The executive committee also included Yasser Hareb, vice president of the Al Maktoum Foundation, Fahad Al Bannai, vice president - Axiom Telecom, Issam Ahmed Lootah, and Faten Hani, Executive Director of the Education Center, DIFC.

This was associated with the unveiling of the logo of Princess Haya Special Educators Award, which is designed to reflect the compassion and care given by Special Needs institutions and families.

Princess Haya Special Educators Award was launched a few days ago to be the first initiative of its kind in the region. It targets the best models of the Special Needs sector in various categories according to high international standards. The initiative also aims to encourage therapists, educators, administrative staff, and caregivers in the field of Special Needs.
